Hat Patterns to Share…
When my sister had a mastectomy and was offered head coverings made of vivid cotton prints, I cringed. They screamed: LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME! That was the last thing she wanted after being told she would lose her hair during the cancer treatments. I’m sure the ladies hospital auxiliary made these in good faith, thinking these happy prints would lift the wearer’s spirits.
So I set about making hats for her in soft colors and soft textures to help her feel more comfortable and attractive. We started by modifying patterns purchased from fabric stores. Then I developed my own patterns. After all that effort, I decided, why not share?
So, I’m offering free downloads of my pattern designs so you too, can sew for your family and friends fighting cancer. Or, you can sew and wear them yourself, as I have.
I will add more hat patterns at a later date. Let me know how it goes. Better yet, send pictures of your creations so we can post them.
